[Desideriu Iakob]

born 21 iunie 1930, Eliseni, old county of Orhei, actual Harghita – 198?

Education: Institute of Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" Bucharest, graphics department, professor George Ivancenco (1964). Was artistic editor for Ion Creanga Publishing House. He published cartoons  in "Arici Pogonici" magazine.

His static, but decorative style, with scenic details, doubled by a strong chromatic, was very well exploited on the wide areas offered by large format books (Gulliver, Fram, the polar bear, Robinson Crusoe, Robin Hood, and Alunel şi pofta de mâncare) or where the illustrations replaced the text, scrolling the story almost cinematic, photogram by photogram,  at a pace of personal reading (Albă ca zăpada, Doftorul Todiraş, Le chat botté).

In addition to book illustration, he did applied graphics, engraving and advertising graphics.
