Addressing, initially, a classic illustration style, generally quiet, with characters void of expressive tumult, Ecaterina Draganovici was likely to remain just a playful illustrator in the memory of young readers or illustrated book collectors. Gradually, enjoying the mid sixties ideological relaxation, Ecaterina Draganovici has developed her own style, accessible to juvenile perception: human or zoomorphic characters, cheerful, laid quietly in narrative plans.
The eighties were very fruitful for the illustrator, with many coloring books conceived on various subjects for the appropriate age, but success came her way with the illustration of three famous characters: Târlici, Rabbit-Sweet-Cabbage and Chester Bear - appeared in several series and editions, with the latter winning the French and English book market, with all 4 volumes of the series.
