Education: The Institute of Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" in Bucharest, graphics department (1967).
Specialised in model and book illustration. He was art editor for the « Flacăra » magazine and «Ion Creangă» Publishing House. He participated in international children illustration exhibitions - Brno (1980, 1984), Bratislava (1981), Damascus (1981), Barcelona (1984).
Vasile Olac is a prolific artist, of the same cut as Val Munteanu and Stan Done, but with a more moderate line graphic, trapped in a static expression, pencilled in a more economic gesture, more rational, addressable to adolescence. His characters are at the limit of realism, just enough to keep an atmosphere of adventure "fantasy", allowing the story to flow within its narrative. In the '80s he published comic strips in the "Children Almanac".

His stylised graphic style, reduced to essential lines, layered in grotesque compositions, brought Vasile Olac more closer to the satirical art, having many caricatures published in “Urzica” and “Perpetuum comic”. He participated to many international thematic exhibitions - Montreal (1984 , 1985), Istanbul (1984), Gabrovo (1985, 1986), Fredikstad (1987). In the field of advertising art, he has works owned by the Willanow Poster Museum (Poland).
He illustrated books for the following publishing houses: "Ion Creanga", "Junimea", "Kriterion", "Cartea românească". He received the National Council of Pioneers Award for children's book illustration (1984).
